Looking for cheaper auto insurance rates for your Mazda 3? I can’t think of anyone who looks forward to paying for auto insurance, especially when they are aware that their premiums are too high.
You have multiple car insurance companies to insure vehicles with, and though it is a good thing to be able to choose, it makes it harder to compare rates and cut insurance costs.
It’s a good habit to shop coverage around every six months because auto insurance prices change quite often. Even if you got the best rate on 3 insurance six months ago you can probably find a lower rate today. Ignore everything you know about auto insurance because you’re going to get a crash course in the fastest and easiest way to find better rates and still maintain coverage.
Buying car insurance is not rocket science. Basically, anyone who is required by state law to have car insurance stands a good chance to be able to find better rates. But drivers do need to learn the way insurance companies market insurance on the web and apply this information to your search.
Effectively comparing insurance coverage prices can take hours if you aren’t aware of the easiest way. You can spend your afternoon talking about coverages with insurance agencies in your area, or you could use the internet to get rates in a matter of minutes.
Many of the larger companies belong to an insurance system where insurance shoppers submit one quote, and at least one company returns a rated price. This saves time by eliminating repetitive form submissions to each individual insurance coverage company.

The one disadvantage to comparing rates this way is that you can’t choose the insurers to get quotes from. So if you want to choose specific providers for rate comparison, we put together a list of insurance coverage companies in your area. Click here to view list.
Whichever way you use, double check that you are using the exact same coverage limits and deductibles for every company. If each company quotes different values for each quote it will be next to impossible to determine the lowest rate for your Mazda 3. Just a small difference in coverages may cause a big price difference. And when price shopping your coverage, having more price comparisons increases your odds of finding a better price. Some insurance companies are not set up to provide online quotes, so it’s necessary to compare quotes from the smaller companies as well.
When buying adequate coverage, there isn’t really a “perfect” insurance plan. Everyone’s situation is a little different and a cookie cutter policy won’t apply. Here are some questions about coverages that might point out whether or not you would benefit from professional advice.
If you’re not sure about those questions, then you may want to think about talking to a licensed agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, simply complete this short form or you can also visit this page to select a carrier
Having a good grasp of your insurance policy can help you determine the best coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. The terms used in a policy can be ambiguous and coverage can change by endorsement. Shown next are typical coverages found on most insurance policies.
Collision – Collision coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage resulting from colliding with an object or car. You will need to pay your deductible and then insurance will cover the remainder.
Collision can pay for claims such as crashing into a ditch, crashing into a building, hitting a parking meter, rolling your car and hitting a mailbox. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so consider removing coverage from lower value vehicles. Drivers also have the option to raise the deductible to bring the cost down.
Med pay and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – Med pay and PIP coverage reimburse you for bills such as funeral costs, ambulance fees and chiropractic care. They are used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance plan or if there is no health insurance coverage. Medical payments and PIP cover both the driver and occupants and also covers being hit by a car walking across the street. Personal injury protection coverage is only offered in select states and gives slightly broader coverage than med pay
Comprehensive insurance – Comprehensive insurance pays for damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You need to pay your deductible first then the remaining damage will be covered by your comprehensive coverage.
Comprehensive coverage protects against things such as vandalism, hitting a deer, a tree branch falling on your vehicle and damage from flooding. The maximum amount you can receive from a comprehensive claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider dropping full coverage.
Liability auto insurance – Liability insurance provides protection from damage or injury you incur to a person or their property. Liability coverage has three limits: bodily injury for each person injured, bodily injury for the entire accident and a property damage limit. As an example, you may have values of 50/100/50 that means you have $50,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and property damage coverage for $50,000.
Liability coverage protects against things like court costs, repair costs for stationary objects, bail bonds and repair bills for other people’s vehicles. How much liability should you purchase? That is up to you, but consider buying as high a limit as you can afford.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) – This coverage gives you protection from other motorists when they either are underinsured or have no liability coverage at all. Covered losses include hospital bills for your injuries as well as damage to your 2008 Mazda 3.
Since a lot of drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. So UM/UIM coverage is very important.
