2007 Isuzu Ascender Insurance Rates

No one in their right mind looks forward to buying insurance, especially when they know their premiums are through the roof. There are many auto insurance companies to purchase coverage from, and though it is a good thing to have a selection, it makes it harder to compare rates.

Buy insurance online

Performing a rate comparison can be challenging if you aren’t aware of the most efficient way to do it. You can spend your afternoon talking to insurance companies in your area, or you can stay home and use online quoting to get rate comparisons in just a few minutes.

Many companies participate in an industry program where prospective buyers send in one quote, and every company then returns a price quote based on that data. This eliminates the need for quote requests for each company you want a rate for.

The only downside to using this type of system is that you can’t choose the providers to get pricing from. So if you prefer to choose from a list of companies to request quotes from, we have a page of insurance companies in your area. Click to view list.

It’s up to you how you get prices quotes, just ensure you are comparing identical quote data for every quote you compare. If your comparisons have unequal deductibles or liability limits it will be impossible to find the best deal for your Isuzu Ascender.

Lower rates by qualifying for discounts

Some insurers don’t always advertise the complete list of policy discounts very well, so below is a list a few of the more common in addition to some of the lesser obvious discounts that may be available.

  • Telematics Data – Policyholders that allow data collection to spy on driving patterns by using a telematics device in their vehicle like Allstate’s Drivewise might see lower rates if they exhibit good driving behavior.
  • Discounts for Government Workers – Having worked for a branch of the government could cut as much as 10% off on Ascender coverage with some car insurance companies.
  • Waiver for an Accident – Not a discount per se, but some insurance companies will forgive one accident before they charge you more for coverage so long as you haven’t had any claims prior to the accident.
  • Safe Driver Discount – Insureds who avoid accidents may receive a discount up to 45% on Ascender coverage as compared to drivers with claims.
  • Discounts for Multiple Vehicles – Buying a policy with all your vehicles with the same car insurance company qualifies for this discount.
  • E-sign – Many larger companies will provide an incentive simply for signing on their website.

Don’t be shocked that some of the credits will not apply to the overall cost of the policy. The majority will only reduce individual premiums such as collision or personal injury protection. So even though they make it sound like adding up those discounts means a free policy, you won’t be that lucky.

Car insurance is unique, just like you

When buying the right insurance coverage, there isn’t really a one size fits all plan. Your needs are not the same as everyone else’s so your insurance should reflect that For instance, these questions may help you determine whether or not you would benefit from professional advice.

  • Am I covered when renting a car or should I buy coverage from the car rental agency?
  • How high should my medical payments coverage be?
  • Does car insurance cover theft of personal property?
  • Do I need higher collision deductibles?
  • What are the best liability limits?
  • Where can I find high-risk insurance?
  • I don’t drive much so do I pay less?
  • Does my policy cover me when driving someone else’s vehicle?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions but you know they apply to you, then you may want to think about talking to a licensed insurance agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, take a second and complete this form or you can go here for a list of companies in your area. It only takes a few minutes and can help protect your family.

Insurance coverage breakdown

Having a good grasp of insurance helps when choosing appropriate coverage for your vehicles. The coverage terms in a policy can be difficult to understand and coverage can change by endorsement. Shown next are the normal coverages offered by insurance companies.

Comprehensive or Other Than Collision

This coverage will pay to fix damage that is not covered by collision coverage. A deductible will apply then your comprehensive coverage will pay.

Comprehensive coverage protects against things like falling objects, theft, damage from getting keyed and damage from flooding. The most your insurance company will pay is the ACV or actual cash value, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible it’s not worth carrying full coverage.

Medical costs insurance

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and medical payments coverage pay for bills for pain medications, nursing services and ambulance fees. They can be used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance plan or if there is no health insurance coverage. Coverage applies to not only the driver but also the vehicle occupants in addition to any family member struck as a pedestrian. PIP is not available in all states but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage

Collision coverage protection

This pays to fix your vehicle from damage resulting from a collision with an object or car. You will need to pay your deductible then your collision coverage will kick in.

Collision insurance covers things such as sideswiping another vehicle, driving through your garage door, damaging your car on a curb, crashing into a building and crashing into a ditch. This coverage can be expensive, so analyze the benefit of dropping coverage from older vehicles. It’s also possible to choose a higher deductible to bring the cost down.

UM/UIM Coverage

Uninsured or Underinsured Motorist coverage provides protection when the “other guys” do not carry enough liability coverage. Covered claims include injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants as well as damage to your Isuzu Ascender.

Since many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. So UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked. Frequently the UM/UIM limits are set the same as your liablity limits.

Liability auto insurance

Liability coverage provides protection from damages or injuries you inflict on people or other property that is your fault. This insurance protects YOU from legal claims by others. Liability doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.

Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury for each person, bodily injury for the entire accident, and a limit for property damage. Your policy might show limits of 100/300/100 that means you have a $100,000 limit per person for injuries, a per accident bodily injury limit of $300,000, and property damage coverage for $100,000. Occasionally you may see a combined limit that pays claims from the same limit rather than limiting it on a per person basis.

Liability insurance covers things like medical expenses, emergency aid, loss of income and bail bonds. How much liability should you purchase? That is a decision to put some thought into, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase higher limits if possible.
